Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation- Fewer prototypes, fewer test runs, lower costs
- More comprehensive tests in a shorter time
- Higher quality, lower risks
- Start of production on schedule using fewer resources
Virtual Test Runs
There is an established method of performing reliable and comprehensive controller tests in the lab: hardware-in-the-loop simulation, in which the controller is connected to a simulator and a virtual test run is performed in the lab. This reduces the number of test runs in the "real" world.
Comprehensive Testing
The simulator copes easily with safety-critical borderline cases under extreme conditions, like freezing cold and searing heat. Moreover, the tests are reproducible and can be automated (lights-out testing). So hardware-in-the-loop simulation provides enormous savings in cost and time.
