Windows XP Service Pack 3 Compatibility

General information

Beginning with dSPACE Release 6.3 we recommend using Service Pack 3 when working under Windows XP (Windows XP SP3).
Although no further problems with Windows XP SP3 were observed so far, dSPACE Releases before 6.3 have not been tested under this operating system! We recommend using Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

With releases older than dSPACE Release 6.3 minor problems were observed in conjunction with Windows XP SP3.
In particular, layout windows of ControlDesk and CalDesk are set to read-only mode.

ControlDesk

Only versions until ControlDesk 3.1 are affected.
For ControlDesk versions from 2.3 (Release 4.0) to 3.1 (Release 5.3) a hotfix to solve the read-only problem is available.

Installation

Download the hotfix setup DSHF42079CD2331.exe.
Close all running programs.
Execute DSHF42079CD2331.exe.
Start ControlDesk and check if the problem is solved.

CalDesk

All versions until Release 6.2 are affected.
For CalDesk 2.0 (contained on Release 6.1 and 6.2) a patch is available (CalDesk 2.0p1).
